The NSW Hyundai Rally Series (“HRS”) made a huge comeback in 2014 and is continuing to grow in 2017. All rounds will be conducted as part of the Development Rally Series (“DRS”) and Excel competitors are automatically registered to score points in the DRS as part of their registration into the HRS.

The HRS was conceived as a simple, cost-effective way of introducing new drivers into rallying and allowing them to develop their driving and road reading skills, rather than investing in an “arms race” in order to improve their stage times. In keeping with the concept of containing costs for HRS competitors, the DRS events are an ideal part of that strategy as they require no more than 1 nights’ accommodation (and often, no accommodation at all); lower entry fees; and are “single venue” events to avoid the necessity and cost of providing a service crew.

The Hyundai Excel is a great option for both a first-time driver or someone with more experience. It is a highly reliable car, as well as being very affordable to build and maintain. In this series, all competitors are competing on a very level playing field.

For fierce competition, great friendships, simple rules and value for money rallying, the HRS is the series to join.

In order to score points in the Hyundai Rally Series, a Driver/Co-driver must register with the NSW Rally Panel by the close of entries for that event. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that forms and payment are received in full and in time.

The Registration Fee for 2017 is $20 (including GST) for the first series and $10.00 (including GST) for each additional series. Once you are registered for a series, you will be eligible for discounted entry fees to each round of that series. Why wouldn’t you register?

Please refer to the 2017 Competition Conditions for further information on the 2017 Hyundai Rally Series.
