Bega Valley Rally – Now includes the CRS and HRS
October 2 - October 3
Unfortunately the Bega valley Rally has been postponed to later in the year on the 2nd and 3rd October
The Sapphire Coast Sporting Car Club Inc. are incredibly pleased to be bringing the Bega Valley Rally back
into the fold of Motor Sport Australia for this year and look forward to many years together.
The SCSCC are proud to be Round 2 of the NSW Rally Championship Series, along with round 3 of the East
Coast Classic 2WD and 4WD series.
In particular we would like to acknowledge and thank Bega Valley Toyota for generously agreeing to be our
naming rights sponsor of the Bega Valley Rally, now to be named the Bega Valley Toyota Rally.
As the event in 2020 was cancelled for us due to fires, floods and then Covid 19 stepped in, which added to
the complications of running a safe rally for all concerned, we are very conscious of creating an event that
offers competitors maximum value for money. To this end we have selected the best Shire roads that are
available, including Upper Cobargo, Coopers Gully and Buckajo, plus a few more new ones to add to the
challenge. There will also be a few night stages on Saturday evening, followed by the Sunday stages around
the Eden area to complete the 240 kms approximately of competitive stages.
As in previous years and with local community consideration in mind, we will run the shire stages in Bega
early on Saturday afternoon, and then move the event via transport stages down to Boydtown, just south of
Eden. Boydtown will be the service park area for the remainder of the event. After a meal break for crews
the planned night stages will be run.
Sunday will see the event restart from Boydtown, to complete several more stages revisiting the service park
during the morning before the 1st car should finish around 2:30 pm. A presentation ceremony will be at the
Seahorse Inn Boydtown, depending on government regulations in relation to Covid 19 restrictions at the
time of the event. Further details will be available closer to the event.
The Eden forest area has been totally devastated by the bushfires of 2019/20 and with this in mind, and
working along with Forestry, we have hopefully found the best roads available for the rally. Many of the
roads we have previously used are still unsuitable for traffic and require major repairs to be done to them.
Some of the roads we have selected are new to the event and competitors and have had major work carried
out on them to date, there is extraordinarily little of the forest left as you will see when you traverse these
We would like to thank members of the Forestry Corporation NSW who have been extremely helpful and
supportive of this event, also the Bega Shire Council and its councillors who have been totally supportive of
this event and the NSW Police who have been equally helpful.
We look forward to seeing all of you at the event on the June long weekend, and hope that not only will you
have great and safe event, but that we will be able to deliver to you the Bega Valley Rally that we all look
forward to for now and many years to come.
